Welcome to the ACS Athens Swimathon – Making a Splash for Awareness! Join us for an inspiring 24-hour swimming marathon dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Hatzipaterion & Liberty Guide Dogs, two incredible organizations supporting individuals with disabilities. This event unites students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members in a meaningful initiative that promotes awareness, connectedness, resilience, and collective action.

Α. Individual Swimathon Participants
Take part in a relay-style Swimathon by signing up for a 10-minute swimming shift at your preferred time slot:

  • May 9: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • May 10: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pause: 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Rest break for participants & volunteers)
Participation Fee: €10 (Includes access to all event activities!)
What to Bring: Swimsuit, towel, flip flops & enthusiasm!
Who Can Join? Open to students, faculty, parents, alumni, and community members.

Beyond Swimming – Your participation also grants you access to guest speakers, hands-on activities, performances, and more!

Β. Schools & Teams – Take on the Swimathon Challenge!
Take part as a school, team, or an oganizations to compete in a special relay challenge designed to encourage teamwork, fun, and support for a meaningful cause!

Pick a Time Slot: May 9, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Your Goal: Swim for 30 minutes using two designated lanes.
How It Works: Your team can have as many swimmers as you like—each taking turns in a relay format.
The Challenge: The team that swims the longest distance in 30 minutes wins a special trophy!

Participation Fee: €200 per team/school
Who Can Join? Open to schools, athletic teams, and community groups.

Who can participate?
The ACS Athens Swimathon– Making a Splash for Awareness is open to ACS Athens students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, community members, and friends of ACS Athens.

Do I need to be an expert swimmer?
Not at all! Swimmers of all skill levels are welcome. You can swim at your own pace and choose how much or how little you want to swim within your allocated slot.

How do I register?
Registration is available online through our official platform. Participants will be able to select their preferred time slots during the sign-up process.

Can I participate as a team?
Yes! Teams, schools, and organizations are encouraged to join. Relay-style swimming is the preferred format for teams.

Is there a registration fee?
Yes, the registration fee helps cover event costs and supports fundraising efforts for individuals with disabilities.

  • Individual participation: €10 (Includes access to all activities)
  • School/Team participation: €200 per team

What happens if I can’t swim but still want to support?
There are many ways to get involved! You can:

  • Volunteer to help run the event
  • Cheer on the swimmers and show your support
  • Donate directly to the cause

Will there be lifeguards on duty?
Absolutely! Trained lifeguards and safety personnel will be on duty at all times to ensure a safe swimming environment for everyone.

To participate in the tournament requires full acceptance of the regulations:

Special Terms

  1. All participants must complete a waiver and consent form before entering the event.
  2. Participants must adhere to all pool safety guidelines.
  3. Event organizers reserve the right to modify schedules and rules for safety reasons.

 

General Terms

  1. Men and women of all ages are accepted.
  2. Participants under 18 must submit a signed parental consent form.
  3. Valid participation is confirmed only after the registration fee has been paid.
  4. Any participant who cancels/postpones their registration is not entitled to a refund.
  5. Participants are required to fully comply with the event regulations and follow the instructions of organizers and volunteers.
  6. Athletes participate at their own risk. The event organizers are not responsible for injuries, but qualified medical personnel and rescue teams will be available.
  7. Participants must have been recently examined by a physician (within 6 months of the event) to ensure they are fit for participation.
  8. Participants consent to being photographed or filmed during the event, with images used exclusively for event promotion.
  9. The organizers have the right to modify rules and event details if necessary.

The participation fee is non-refundable.
